Residency at Le Chateau, Saint Louis, Senegal

In February 2023, I spent a month in Saint-Louis, Senegal — Ndar, as it is known locally — for a residency at Le Chateau, a cultural centre run by the dance company Duo Solo.
The collaboration was with Modou, a designer and tailor with exceptional skills in embroidery, who was in the process of launching his brand Yeug Design. We worked together on combining contemporary and traditional techniques — his embroidery with A.D.Deertz shapes and fabrics. The residency quickly expanded: we got a crew of dancers together and hosted a presentation at Le Chateau. Ten days of work, movement and exchange.
